Visiting Portugal

Portugal is a country of extremes as far as visitors from outside are concerned, the coastal area of the Algarve has fast become universally popular, golf resorts and 18-30 style coastal resorts have boomed, however move outside of the holiday centers and it's easy to escape the crowds. Only a short distance from even the most popular resorts in the Algarve, will reveal Portugal as it should be seen. Small white-washed towns and villages still offer the chance to explore and discover the old-fashioned charm, medieval castles and local crafts and cuisine so often associated with Portugal but rarely experienced. Small villages scattered around un-predictable coastlines, and undulating hillsides, still hold secrets awaiting discovery.

Lisbon and Porto

Portugal's capital, Lisbon, and Porto in the north, are large modern cities but still retain their individual character, architecture and culture. Wandering though differing quarters along riversides and though cobblestone streets with rattling trams and spectacular cathedrals, it is sometimes hard to remember just where you are. Just a short train ride away are stunning beaches of Cascais or the National Palace, in Sintra with beautiful painted rooms and huge pair of conical chimneys.
