Perissa Village on the Island of Santorini is located on the eastern cost of the island, Perissa is one of the best beaches on Santorini, long stretches of dark sand and crystal clear cool waters are protected from the summer Aegean winds ("Meltemia") by Mesa Vouno, (the site of Ancient Thira) in the north east and Profitis Ilias to the north.

Perissa is very much a tourist sea-side settlement, 15km from the capital of Fira, much of Perissa is newly built, the architecture of the buildings being less traditional than many of the surrounding villages. It is sparsely populated outside of the tourist period (April to October), but during this time it hosts a good number of hotels, rooms to let, taverns, cafes, beach bars and night-clubs.

Public transport is restricted to bus or taxi and there are few of the latter on the island. Buses are fairly reliable although can get crowded during the peak times. Busses from all the villages terminate in Fira and the Perissa bus turns around at the edge of the village at the beach near Mesa Vouno.
